BEHIND THE WORK.
I have played football my entire life. Long before I ever picked up a paint brush, the game shaped how I see movement, space, rhythm, and timing. This work is my way of translating that lifelong relationship with football into the language of art. Rather than depicting the players, the crowd, or the stadium, I remove them entirely. I strip the game down to its purest element: the movement of the ball. Using a paint pen, I draw the buildup to a goal as it unfolds across the pitch, allowing the ball’s path to become the brushstroke and the field to become the canvas.
What remains is not a portrait of a match, but an expression of the game itself. The pauses, the acceleration, the weight of each pass, the intention behind every movement. By extracting the surrounding scenes, the viewer is invited to focus on the fluidity and quiet beauty that exists within the game—often unnoticed in real time.
Each piece captures a single moment in football history. It is not about the final outcome, but about the journey that led there. The buildup, the connection, the shared understanding between players that turns motion into meaning.
